Antonio zambrano
Antonio Zambrano is an Ecuadorian-born dance artist whose love for movement sparked early—long before formal training—when Gasolina by Daddy Yankee hit the airwaves and he realized he simply couldn’t stay still. That instinctive pull toward rhythm became the foundation of a lifelong passion for dance, expression, and performance.
Antonio was officially introduced to dance at twelve years old through a ballroom program in his elementary school. Throughout high school, he expanded his training into Hip Hop, Dancehall, Afrobeats, and choreography, eventually becoming Dance Captain of his team. These years shaped his identity as a mover who thrives on performance, musicality, and the thrill of training.
After graduating high school in 2019 and living through the pandemic, Antonio briefly stepped away from dance. He returned with renewed fire and successfully auditioned for and joined the Araguacu Latin Dance Company in 2020, fully integrating himself into the Latin dance community for the first time. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, he committed intensely to his training. His experience at Mamboland Montréal in 2022 became a pivotal moment, revealing that dance could transcend a passion and evolve into a professional career path.
In 2024, Antonio made his competitive debut at the prestigious Canada Salsa & Bachata Congress, earning a remarkable 2nd place. Since then, he has rapidly expanded his artistry, training and performing alongside world-renowned figures such as Bersy Cortez, Michelle Morales, Adolfo Indacochea, Angelo Rito, Charlie García, and Kate Rodríguez. Within Toronto, he has also danced with respected local companies, including Amora, Amamia, and Mambo Academy.
Antonio’s performance career is extensive, spanning major festivals and community events across the city, including Fuego Fuego 2024. His experience also extends to television, with appearances on the final season of The Next Step and in Season 2 of Agent Cross, produced by Paramount.
Outside of the studio, Antonio channels his creativity into his family business, Wepa Atelier, where he actively contributes to costume design. He holds a background in Event Coordinating from George Brown College and has a robust history in the hospitality industry since 2018, holding various roles as a barista, server, host, and bartender.
At his core, Antonio is a performer—someone who feels most alive on stage—and a dedicated student of dance who genuinely loves the discipline of training. He is focused on advancing through further competitions, expanding his repertoire into new styles, teaching, performing internationally, and ultimately aspiring to tour with an artist, all while maintaining a meaningful and multifaceted career beyond dance.
Antonio Zambrano is a dynamic artist ready to make his mark on the global stage.
